Joint friction
How much force does friction cost? With a pin diameter and a friction coefficient for each joint, you compare manual and joint forces with and without friction.
A cylinder deploys and retracts the landing gear of an aircraft. ASOMv10 calculates the required cylinder force, including the friction in the revolute joints.

A cylinder deploys the landing gear outward from the center of the aircraft and retracts it again, viewed along the aircraft axis. The model applies during flight, that is, before touchdown. The task is to find the force the cylinder has to apply – including the friction in the revolute joints.
You see early on how much friction changes the required cylinder force – differently during deployment than during retraction.
You know the required force for both directions before the cylinder is selected. More on force calculation
A diagram shows what friction costs – instead of separate calculations with and without friction. More on diagrams
You check other start and end positions in the same model; if required, a motion generation synthesis holds the end position in place.

Two drives that model spindle drives adjust the height and the foot section. ASOMv10 calculates drive and bearing forces in real time, with friction in all joints and guides.

Two hydraulic cylinders open the gate and raise and lower the platform. ASOMv10 combines the partial movements into one motion sequence and calculates the bearing forces with friction.
Describe your mechanism to us. In an online demo, we will show you ASOMv10 using your example.
