Aircraft landing gear with bearing friction
How much does friction change the cylinder force during deployment and retraction? ASOM takes joint friction into account and compares the cylinder force with and without friction.
Two hydraulic cylinders move the lift gate of a truck through several partial movements all the way down to the road. ASOM plays back the entire motion sequence in one model and calculates the bearing forces with friction.

The lift gate is designed as a linkage with two degrees of freedom, driven by two hydraulic cylinders. Its motion is made up of partial movements: opening, transition to the horizontal, raising and lowering the platform, and lowering the loading edge onto the road. For every position, the required cylinder lengths and the forces in the bearings matter.
You see early on which cylinder lengths are required and which forces the bearings absorb – and how every change affects them.
All partial movements run in one model instead of each position being examined individually. More on motion sequences
You know the cylinder lengths and bearing forces before cylinders and bearings are selected. More on force calculation
You check a modified mechanism in the same model, without starting over.

Three linear drives, one per degree of freedom, move the boom, stick and bucket. Their motion profiles are coordinated with one another.

A hood mechanism for normal opening and for pedestrian protection. You examine each section of the motion sequence individually.
Describe your mechanism to us. In an online demo, we will show you ASOM using your example.
