In the idealized example it is simply assumed that the static friction roughly corresponds to the sliding friction. Thus µ as friction coefficient is both the static friction value and the sliding friction value (simplified version of Coulomb’s friction law).
The kinematics software ASOM always determines the actuating force directly as a function of the coefficient of friction, the weight of the block and the slope of the plane for both directions of motion. The actuating force is also determined for the case without friction.
