Piston of a Two-Stroke Engine in ASOMv10

In this example, the bearing forces at a cylinder piston of a two-stroke engine are determined in a simplified way.

ASOMv10 case study: piston of a two-stroke engine

The inertia of center-of-gravity elements in general, or rather the moments of inertia of individual components, like the driving rod, the counter mass and the piston, are taken into account here. The underlying mechanism is a slider-crank linkage. At high rotational speeds or at high accelerations in general it is often necessary to take inertia into account, because the resulting effects are then no longer negligible.
