In this example the operating forces for a toggle switch are analyzed. Different cases are analyzed at the same time in the same project:

  • switching on without friction
  • switching off without friction
  • switching on with simplified friction
  • switching off with simplified friction

The subsequent manual optimization of the operating forces by changing the contour takes into account all four cases at the same time and is still very easily accomplished. A force limit is also displayed right in the same diagram. The friction that is taken into consideration in this example is dependent not only on the movement direction, but also on the rotary spring characteristics and on the relative pressure angle between contacting ball and contour. Also, for the two cases of switching on and off, different points of action for the manual operation forces are considered. These points of action can be altered separately. The necessary forces shown in the diagram are then immediately and automatically modified accordingly.
