Wankel engine
Constraints fix the gear ratio at 2 : 3. The trajectories of the rotor apexes form the housing contour – even when you change the rotor shape.
Four rotor shapes for a Wankel engine, with three to six apexes: ASOMv10 shows the matching housing contour for each shape.

Each number of rotor apexes has its own constant ratio of gear to ring gear: 2 : 3 for the triangular, 3 : 4 for the square, 4 : 5 for the pentagonal and 5 : 6 for the hexagonal rotor. In each case, the matching housing contour should result from the motion.
You compare the variants directly with one another and see how the number of apexes changes the housing contour.
Whatever constraints lock in is retained with every change; you do not have to recalculate anything. More on constraints
You do not have to calculate the housing contour yourself; the trajectory shows it directly.
In ASOMv10, gear pairs are among the basic building blocks, as are belt transmissions and racks. More on the building blocks

At 6,000 rpm, inertia matters. ASOMv10 calculates the joint and bearing forces with connecting rod, counterweight and piston.

A circular shape slides on a contour of any shape or rolls along it. The video shows both cases, precisely simulated in ASOMv10.
Describe your mechanism to us. In an online demo, we will show you ASOMv10 using your example.
